What this document covers

ReceiptScan.io ("we", "us", "the service") is an AI-powered receipt scanning app. This policy explains what data we collect, where it goes, and what control you have over it.

Receipt images

When you scan a receipt, the image is compressed on your device and sent over an encrypted connection to an AI vision model for processing. Receipt images are not stored on our servers after the scan completes. We retain the structured data (store name, items, prices, tax, total) — not the original photo.

Scan history

If you use the app without signing in, your scan history lives in your browser's local storage on that device. Clearing your browser data will erase it. We do not have access to guest history.

If you sign in (free tier), your history stays on your device. If you upgrade to Pro, your history syncs to encrypted cloud storage so it follows you across devices.

Account information

If you sign in via Google, Apple, or another OAuth provider, we receive your email address and a unique account ID from that provider. We do not receive your password. We use this to authenticate you and to associate your scan history with your account.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data to advertisers.
• We do not share receipt contents with third parties except the AI vendor that processes the scan.
• We do not track you across other websites.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of first-party cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

Your choices

• Delete individual receipts at any time from the History page.
• Delete all cloud history by signing in and choosing Account → Delete all data.
• Revoke OAuth access from your provider's account settings.
• Contact us to delete your account entirely.
